# Android live mirror versus iPhone import

Android and iPhone do not do the same trick. Android can put a live horizontal mirror over a compatible app that permits screen sharing. iPhone imports a movie into Dancer Mirror and practises there. Buying Lifetime Pro once covers the account. It does not make the phones identical.

| Capability | Dancer Mirror | iPhone import |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Live mirror of another app | Android, when that app allows screen sharing. Not every app. Not a bypass. | Not on iPhone. There is no cross-app overlay. |
| A video you import | Yes. Mirror, speed, loop, counts, notes, zoom. | Yes. The same idea, from Photos, Files, or the share sheet. |
| Picture in picture | Floats Dancer Mirror's own practice clip. | Floats Dancer Mirror's own practice clip. Not another app. |
| Front camera | Side by side or ghost, and a take kept on the device. | Side by side or ghost, and a take kept on the device. |
| Protected video | May be black. That is the phone, not a bug to route around. | Import a file you can actually play. |
| Language | English menus. | English menus. |

**Takeaway.** If sharing on Android comes up blank or blocked, use the in-app player. On iPhone, start from a file. Picture-in-picture on both phones floats this app's practice clip, not some other app.

## What the Android live mirror is

You grant the overlay, you accept a plain explanation, and Android's sharing picker asks which app to share. Dancer Mirror flips those pixels in a window you can crop. Control mode hides the mirror so you can pause or seek. Stop ends it. Frames are not saved or uploaded. No audio is taken from the other app.

Android 14 or newer, with app-scoped screen sharing, is the live path. If the other app refuses, or the picture is protected, the session stops and the local player is the fallback. There is no claim that every app on the phone will share.

## What the iPhone player is

On iPhone you import a local movie, flip it, and practise with speed, loops, markers, and notes. You can float that practice clip with picture in picture. You cannot lay Dancer Mirror over another app the way Android can. Anyone who says the two phones match on that point is wrong.

A share from Files or Photos hands over a movie file. It does not hand over another app's screen. If you need a clip, it has to be a file you are allowed to open.

## Does Lifetime Pro unlock the Android overlay on an iPhone?

No. The purchase is shared. The live overlay is an Android capability. iPhone stays an import player.

## Can I record the other app while the mirror is up?

No. The live mirror is not recorded. A take means the front camera, of you, while a clip you imported is playing.
