# Malambo right foot then left foot

Malambo right foot then left foot is a habit of the dance: do the boot phrase leading one side, then give it back on the other. A flipped clip can sketch a phrase that stays under you. It will lie about a phrase that travels. Dirt, boots, and a guitar are not an Irish class. Do not borrow that page.

**Short answer.** Malambo right foot then left foot means the phrase you were shown, then that phrase led by the other foot. Slow the boots until you can hear which sole spoke. A horizontal flip helps when the stamps stay under you. It does not build the travelling version. Keep your teacher's file, not a stranger's stage clip. Dancer Mirror does not download videos. Boots on a hard floor, then stop.

- Many malambo settings expect a phrase and then its other-side answer.
- A mirror sketches a stamp in place. It does not redraw a travelling phrase.

**Takeaway.** Film or keep the side your teacher showed. Use a flip only to imagine the other side of a stamp that does not cross the floor. Ask before you invent the travelling half.

## Hear the sole before you see the trick

Malambo is percussion you wear. At tempo the boots are a drumroll. Slow two strikes. Name which boot hit the floor and which hit the other boot, if they clicked. If you cannot name it, you are collecting noise. Loop those two strikes until the order is dull, then add the next two. A whole mudanza at full speed is how people memorise a blur they cannot repeat on the other side.

The overview of malambo will tell you it is a gaucho dance of boots and spurs. It will not tabulate your teacher's phrase. That is the file.

The overview is [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malambo_(dance)).

## When is the other foot just a flip?

When the phrase stamps in place. You are swapping which boot leads, not drawing a new path across the room. Flip, try two strikes, and listen. If the rhythm still matches the guitar, the sketch is good enough to take to the teacher. It is a sketch. The teacher still owns the dance.

Write 'in place' on the note. Future you will try to flip a travelling phrase because the in-place one worked. The note is the brake.

**Two strikes, then the answer**

- 0.25×: Name the boot. Floor or the other boot.
- 0.5×: Same two strikes on the other lead, only if they stayed in place.
- 1×: One pass. If a spur scrapes, you are too fast for the room you have.

## When do you stop and ask?

When the phrase goes somewhere. A flip turns the map around. You will dance a confident phrase that is not the other-side answer your teacher expects. Mark those bars 'ask' and leave them ugly. Ugly and honest is easier to fix than a fiction you have drilled.

This is the same caution as a travelling Irish step, and the dances are still not the same evening. Irish shoes and soft shoes and a feis floor are a different percussion from boots. Do not open that guide and change the noun. The caution is the only thing they share.

The picture flip is the [mirror guide](https://dancermirror.com/guides/how-to-mirror-a-dance-video). Use it for the picture. Do not use it as a teacher.

## The floor in a flat

Neighbours exist. A boot at tempo on a wooden floor is a complaint. Slow strikes, a rug removed so you can hear, and a short session. Spurs are optional in a flat and unkind to the wood. If the teacher expects spur sound, that sound waits for the place you were given to make it.

Film your own boots from the side once. The front angle hides which boot is late. You need the late one, not a flattering angle.

## Keep the teacher's side labelled

If they showed the right-foot phrase, the file is the right-foot phrase. Label it before you flip anything. A camera roll called 'malambo' will be opened on the wrong side at the next practice, and you will 'correct' a dance that was already right.

Dancer Mirror does not download videos. A competition clip of another dancer is a different mudanza with a similar jacket.
