Compatibility
What has to be true
Live mirror and import practice have different requirements. Neither path bypasses protected content.
Android live mirror
- Operating system
- Android 14 or newer with app-scoped screen sharing is required for the live mirror path.
- Session permission
- Fresh user consent is required whenever a screen-sharing session starts.
- Source app
- The app and the content currently shown must permit screen sharing.
- Availability
- Availability depends on the Android release, the source app, and the content being shared.
iOS import practice
- Device
- A supported iPhone or iPad release with access to a local movie file is required.
- Boundary
- iOS Dancer Mirror is an in-app import practice player. It is not a cross-app overlay and does not claim overlay parity with Android.
- Formats
- Playback depends on whether the device can decode the selected movie formats.
Content policy can change the result
Protected content may appear black when an app prevents screen sharing.
Why content appears blackWhen sharing fails
When sharing is blocked, practise from a local movie in the in-app player instead of forcing an overlay.
